Almost exactly a month ago, J.J. Abrams boldly went after Benicio Del Toro to play the villain in his not-so-soon-to-be-released Star Trek sequel. Things were looking good, but alas, Del Toro is officially out.
The Oscar-winning actor reportedly dropped out of the project after he and Paramount could not come to an agreement on the minor issue of his paycheck for the film. Rumor has it that the deal fell apart last week.
Now the talk among Trekkies turns back to not only whether or not said bad guy will be the infamous Khan, as has been speculated quite a bit recently, but who will take over for Del Toro.
