Box Office Analysis, March 13: It’s a Successful ‘Launch’

Failure to Launch didn’t live up to its title this weekend.

The romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker debuted at the North American box office with a dreamy $24.6 million.

“There hasn’t been a good date movie in a while, and I think women just felt like it was going to be a fun movie,” Rob Moore, worldwide head of marketing and distribution for Paramount told The Associated Press.
