Marty does talk an awful lot …
Martin Scorsese‘s upcoming film, Silence will star Daniel Day-Lewis and Benicio Del Toro, reports Variety.
Scorsese is said to be eyeing New Zealand as a shooting locale for the film, according to the New Zealand Herald, which is expected to begin production later this year.
Gael Garcia Bernal is also circling the film.
Silence is based on the 17th-century set Shusaku Endo novel about two Jesuit priests who face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity.
The film would make a hat trick for Scorsese and Day-Lewis who previously teamed for Gangs of New York and The Age of Innocence.
Graham King, with whom Scorsese has worked on The Departed, The Aviator and Gangs, is financing.
