First a jewel heist, now a shooting: Something strange is happening at the Cannes Film Festival. A man fired two shots into the air Friday during a live TV interview with actors Christopher Waltz and Daniel Auteuil. Django Unchained star Waltz was on set during the special festival coverage and was rushed offstage by security at the sound of gunfire.

After the shooting police were quick to tackle the gunman to the ground before arresting him. The assailant, who has so far only been identified as a 42-year-old man, had filled his gun with blanks, and was also reported to be carrying a fake grenade and a knife.

No one was injured but the scene caused a big scare on the Croisette seafront, where a temporary TV studio had been set up for French show Le Grand Journal for the local Canal + channel. According to France 24, while approaching a French TV channel’s festival studio, the suspect reportedly said to a bystander, “If I were you, I wouldn’t stick around here.”

The cameras kept rolling throughout the incident and you can view the footage below.
