Church of England’s Easter Attack on ‘Da Vinci Code’

The Da Vinci Code has been attacked by the head of the Church of England during his Easter Sunday sermon.

The Archbishop of Canterbury described the Dan Brown novel–which has been made into a movie starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou–as a conspiracy theory that exploits people’s fascination with cover-ups.

He told worshippers at Canterbury Cathedral, “We are instantly fascinated by the suggestion of cover-ups; this has become so much the stuff of our imagination these days that it is only natural, it seems, to expect it when we turn to ancient texts.”

The Da Vinci Code suggests Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and that their bloodline exists to this day. The book has sold more than 40 million copies.
