Dana Carvey To Appear In Sandler’s ‘Jack And Jill’?

Dana CarveyBack when Saturday Night Live based movies were good, Dana Carvey was king. Together with his comedic cohort Mike Myers, the legendary laugh man grossed hundreds of millions of dollars as Garth in the pairs Wayne’s World films and brought many smiles to American faces via NBC’s long running sketch comedy show. He’s not appeared in a film since 2002’s surprise hit The Master of Disguise, but will possibly make his return to the silver screen alongside another SNL vet.

Coming Soon reports that Carvey is set to cameo is Adam Sandler’s forthcoming family film Jack and Jill, in which the $100 million man will play both the male and female leads. Plot details are pretty scarce, but we know that Al Pacino will co-star and Katie Holmes is rumored for a role in the comedy. Dennis Dugan, Sandler’s frequent behind-the-camera collaborator on films like Grown Ups, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan and Happy Gilmore (my personal favorite) will direct from a script by Steve Koren and Robert Smigel.

Though Jack and Jill is far from one of my more anticipated films of 2011, I have long hoped for the return of Carvey, who has enough mojo to fuel his own film (but I’ll take him anyway I can get him). Part on, Garth!
