Dave Franco has confirmed he’ll be portraying rapper Vanilla Ice in a new biopic.
The Now You See Me star was linked to the role in casting news back in January (2-20) and now Dave has revealed he’ll be playing the Ice Ice Baby hitmaker in To the Extreme.
Franco reveals he has spoken with Vanilla Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, and can’t wait to get started on the film.
“Rob is such a sweet and intelligent guy and he’s been super helpful in the process of getting all the details correct and making us privy to information the public doesn’t know,” Franco tells The Insider. “Just talking to him, I can’t help but think about the rabbit holes I’m going to go down to get ready for the role.”
To The Extreme, named after the title of the rapper’s 1990 debut album, is currently in pre-production with filming set to begin once the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions are lifted.
