DiCaprio To Shoot ‘Hoover’ With Eastwood Early Next Year

Leonardo DiCaprioIt looks like one of the perks of being one of the best actors in the business today is getting to work with the best directors in the business (that and like all the candy you want, and by candy, I mean hookers). I’m sure there is corollary somewhere in there but I’m way too hungover to figure it out. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.

Anyway, earlier this year Leonardo DiCaprio attached himself to Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar Hoover biopic and it looks like it will start filming this January or February. DiCaprio made this announcement over the weekend at a retrospective screening with his friend and collaborator Martin Scorsese.

“It looks like, yes, infidelity is in place,” joked DiCaprio of joining a non-Scorsese film, “I will be working with Clint very soon on the Hoover project. I think it’s going to start very soon. Maybe January or February.”

Ok, so lets take a look at this. We have Leonardo DiCaprio playing one of the most controversial figures in the history of the FBI who fired people for simply looking like a “truck driver” and might have been gay. Also, his nickname was “The Hoov” which is a pretty sweet moniker to go by. And all of this directed by the most biggest bad-ass on the planet, Clint Eastwood. I honestly can’t say this will be good. I can say this will be incredible. Putting these two talents together can only lead to great things.

The source also notes that DiCaprio referred to the project at the conference as “the Hoover project” and that has led us to wonder whether or not it will be titled Hoover at all. More to come.
