From 2000 to 2006 Dora the Explorer was everywhere.
The 6-year-old girl was traversing the jungle with her monkey friend Boots, backpack, and Diego, trying to avoid Swiper the fox. Young kids loved that show but after 8 seasons it was canceled and it’s time for Dora to make a comeback… to the jungles of High School.
Dora (Isabela Moner) continued living in the jungle but her parents (Michael Peña and Eva Longoria) want to go deep into the jungle and know its time for Dora to go to school and be with other kids. She goes to live with Diego’s (Jeff Wahlberg) family but when someone wants her parents and that trip to the gold she teams up with Alejandro (Eugenio Derbez) and they search the jungle for her parents.
Dora was loved by many and it was, of course, important to do her character justice. In the above interview go behind the scenes and into the jungle where Eugenio Derbez discusses how this is a new version of Dora as well as why his character is in the story, Eva Longoria loves that this is a Spanish family but still a family, Michael Peña likes that this is a fish out of water story, Jeff Wahlberg talks about Dora in high school, Isabela Moner explains where we find the now older explorer as well as how she’s proud she is a strong character.
‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ releases on August 2, 2019.
