Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up spinoff (rumored to be titled This is Forty, though no one knows for sure) will follow Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann’s characters from the original film, but other familiar faces from the Apatow-verse will be making appearances as well.
First up are Chris O’Dowd and Lena Dunham. O’Dowd rocked it as a lovable cop in Bridesmaids and Dunham destroyed it in Tiny Furniture which she wrote and directed. She’s also writing, directing and starring in the HBO series Girls with Apatow producing. Those two will play employees of Rudd’s indie record label. Next, we have Wyatt Russell, song of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, who will play a hockey player (a hockey element — interesting!). And finally, Charlyne Yi, who played Martin Starr’s stoner girlfriend in Knocked Up, will reprise the role for the spin-off.
Sweetness! Not that I ever doubted Apatow’s next directing gig, but this is just icing on the cake. Sweet, delicious, boner joking icing. Delicious.
