New movie fan reactions: In the Heights

In the Heights is the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical of the same name. The movie stars Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Melissa Barrera, and Olga Merediz. In the Heights was directed by Jon M. Chu, who is best known for his work on Crazy Rich Asians.

Nate called In the Heights and praised its cast and musical numbers.

Monica went so far as to say that In the Heights is the best film she’s seen in her life!

This TikTok user said the movie took him through a series of different emotions.

New movie fan reactions: Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is the sequel to the 2018 film Peter Rabbit. The live-action/ computer-animated film stars Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson, as well as James Corden and Margot Robbie in voice roles. Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway was directed by Will Gluck, who also directed the first Peter Rabbit.

Film critic Scott Menzel said he found Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway to be very fun and even liked it more than the original.

Stephen said that the film exceeded his expectations, calling it “brilliant.”

James said that he thought the film was cleverly written and would definitely recommend Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway!

New movie fan reactions: Infinite

Infinite is a science fiction action film that was released exclusively on Paramount+. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O’Brien, Sophie Cookson, Liz Carr, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Infinite was directed by Antoine Fuqua.

One Twitter user said that she was impressed with the way that mental illness was portrayed in Infinite. 

This fan called the beginning of the film breathtaking and praised Dylan O’Brien’s talent.

One TikTok user called the film as a whole a “masterpiece.”

New movie fan reactions: Queen Bees

Queen Bees is a comedy film that follows the main character Helen Wilson who moves into a retirement community and focuses on her experiences with the other residents there. The film stars Ellen Burstyn, James Caan, Ann-Margret, and Loretta Devine. Queen Bees was directed by Michael Lembeck.

Susan called Queen Bees an “unexpected gem” and said that the film provided a lot of laughs.

Sherrie praised James Caan’s performance, saying that she fell in love with his character.

Kaysi pointed out the number of notable actors in Queen Bees’ cast and said that she enjoyed the cute film.

New movie fan reactions: Censor

Censor is a British horror film that originally premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival in January. The movie stars Niamh Algar, Nicholas Burns, Vincent Franklin, and Sophia La Porta. Censor was directed by Prano Bailey-Bond.

Bren said that Censor was their favorite film from Sundance.  

Jame called the film a masterpiece and praised Niamh Algar’s performance.

This TikTok user said that the psychedelic horror film has a captivating story that keeps viewers roped in until the very last scene.

New movie fan reactions: Sublet

Sublet is an Israeli-American drama film that first premiered at the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival in November 2020 and had a limited release in the U.S. on Friday, June 11. The film stars John Benjamin Hickey, Niv Nissim, Tamir Ginsburg, and Peter Spears. Sublet was directed by Israeli director Eytan Fox.

Mary Ann said that she had a very satisfying experience seeing Sublet in the movie theater.

Matthew said he was moved by the sweet and sincere film.
