First Trailer for ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ is full of nostalgia

The first Ghostbusters reboot kind of fell flat on its face.

People don’t like too much change, especially for something that they love. So how do you pay service to something that people love but also move on and grow from it? You do what Jason Reitman does with ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’.

A mother (Carrie Coon) and her young boy (Finn Wolfhard) are broke with only an old house their grandfather owned to their name. They move out there and of course, things aren’t normal. The town shakes daily for a reason no one can explain. As it turns out the Grandfather had a famous name; Egon Spengler. Then there’s the quote from Bill Murray about fate, and a familiar car in the garage, the Ecto-1. The kids even pull out the gunner seat that my Exto-1 had but I’m pretty sure was never actually used in the movies (it might have been used on the animated show but who knows.) The kids use the car and try to hunt a ghost that many believe to be Slimer.

If the movie can hold up to this first trailer I think we are in for a treat.

‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ releases on July 10, 2020.
