The Israeli stunner reprises her role for the sequel to the 2017 hit, Wonder Woman 1984, and the former Saturday Night Live standout joins the cast as the titular character’s adversary, Barbara Minerva.
And though the two leading ladies became fast friends on set, they would start every working day by commiserating over their sore muscles.
“We were both like, ‘How tired are you right now?'” Gal laughed on Live with Kelly and Ryan, admitting each of them usually had the same answer: “‘Oh I’m so tired, I’m still recovering from yesterday’.
“Each of us, not together, had so many salt baths, because we were aching.”
But Gal has no complaints about the demanding action shots, considering them simply a part of the “gift” of the blockbuster, which has critics who have caught early screenings raving.
“It’s so great if you think about it to have this amazing opportunity to work with the best of the best of the people – and to just have to be in shape for a role,” Gadot marveled. “What a great privilege. Every time I’m tired or feel bad about it, I always remind myself that it is an amazing, amazing gift.”
Gal’s pretty thrilled that she got the chance to work with a new best friend.
“She’s fun and funny and open and smart, and just like the sweetest person one could every ask to work with,” the actress says. “And she’s such a generous partner.”
Wonder Woman 1984 is released in select theatres and on streaming service HBO Max in the U.S. on Christmas Day (December 25, 2020).
