In the Fast & Furious spinoff ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ is everything that F&F is, just turned up a notch.
Yes, there’s a bad guy, he just happens to be Brixton (Idris Elba) a cyber-enhanced guy who kicks some major ass. The only two people that can beat him are F&F alums Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Shaw (Jason Statham). The two are basically complete opposites and they don’t like each other. The thing is they have to learn to work together so they can even have a chance to beat Brixton. That and taking him and his men to the isle of Samoa where Hobbs friends can take a hit on him.
Yes there are cars, and yes there are still guns, but the actors wanted to take a step back and go old school with the fight sequences. In the above interview go behind the scenes of some of the fight scenes and hear from Dwayne Johnson about why he likes the simplicity of the fights, Jason Statham tells us why movies like this are what he likes a shines, Director David Leitch talks about how their fight styles are part of their characters, Idris Elba explains why Hobbs & Shaw need to work together, and Dwayne comes back to tell us why this movie is special to him.
