San Diego Comic-Con 2016 has just kicked off, and this year’s schedule is very different from previous years. Television has really revved up its presence, while more films are seemingly sitting this year out. Despite the shakeup, there is still going to be some amazing panels. Here are the most highly anticipated panels from San Diego Comic Con 2016.

What's Next For Joss Whedon?

Since leaving Marvel behind last year, Joss Whedon has been fairly quiet about his next move. The prolific writer and creator is set to take to take to the Comic-Con stage on Friday, July 22, 3:45 p.m. PT to let everyone know what he's been working on. We're hoping it's Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the 21st century!
Star Trek Galore

Star Trek Beyond is headed to theaters this Friday, and the Star Trek franchise turns 50 this year. Naturally, this means that Comic-Con is going to be packed full with Trekkie news. Along with the premiere of Star Trek Beyond there will be multiple panels, a preview of the new Star Trek TV series, and a ton of other cool things.

The Rock Gets Animated

Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock is literally everywhere these days. With Central Intelligence and his HBO show Ballers, he's proved that he can do just about anything. This time, the hunky former wrestler turned actor is headed to Disney. He will be voicing the demigod Maui in Disney's upcoming Disney Princess flick Moana. Johnson will be chatting all about this new role during his panel on Thursday, July 21, 12:30 p.m. PT.

The "Squad" Is In Town

Suicide Squad is probably most the highly anticpated blockbuster of the summer. Warner Bros. will screen 30 mins of the film followed by a panel with the cast! Pretty dope right?! There will also be Wonder Woman and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them deets! This panel will take place  Saturday, July 23, 11:30 a.m. PT.
Marvel is Might

Obviously, the big dogs are coming out to play. With the Avengers on hiatus for a bit, Marvel's panel this year is all about Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Doctor Strange. The new Spider-Man Tom Holland will also be making his Comic-Con debut, hopefully bringing along some early footage of Spider-Man: HomecomingAlso another one of our favorite Brits, Benedict Cumberbatch will be giving some inside deeets on Doctor Strange. The panel will be held Saturday, July 23, 5:30 p.m. PT.
Marvel's Luke Cage
If you thought Marvel was just going to chat about the silver screen then you thought wrong. Netflix is also bringing their latest Marvel television series to Comic-Con. Mike Colter will be bringing Luke Cage to Netflix on September 30th, Marvel's head of television Jeph Loeb will be hosting this panel which will also include exclusive footage from the show. The panel will be held Thursday, July 21, 5:45 p.m. PT.

Winter Has Come!

After HBO delivered some devestating news to us earlier this week, we're going to need every bit of information we can get about the now-delayed seventh season of Game of Thrones. Luckily, Comic-Con is going to deliver with a GoT  Q&A panel. In attendence will be some fan favs like, Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Conleth Hill (Varys), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark). The panel will be held Friday, July 22, 2:15 p.m. PT.
The 30th Anniversary Of Aliens

Can you belive that it's been 30 years since James Cameron's Aliens?! Comic-Con is giving us a 30th Anniversary retrospective. James Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd will join cast members Sigourney WeaverBill PaxtonLance Henriksen, Michael Biehn, and Paul Reiser. Hopefully we will also get a sneak peek at Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant which is currently in production. The panel will be held Saturday, July 23, 3:15 p.m. PT
We know you're still on pins and needles from the shocking season 6 finale of TWD, so AMC has taken pity on us all by giving us a panel with the majority of the TWD cast (yes that means Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reeds, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira and Jeffrey Dean Morgan) along with the showrunner and exeuctive producers. The cast is expected to answer questions about season 6, and give the audience a sneak peak into season 7. The panel will be held Friday, July 22, 1:00 p.m. PT
