Here Is The One Question J.K. Rowling Really Wants ‘Harry Potter’ Fans To Stop Asking

Personally, we think J.K. Rowling has been more than generous to us. Not only did she give us the entire Harry Potter saga, which includes all of the intricacies of the Wizarding World, she has also been super patient and kind to us poor muggles and no-majs by answering all of our burning questions, no matter how obvious or redundant they may have been. However, everyone has a line, and there is one question, our beloved Mama Rowling really hopes (and politely begs) that we stop asking her. Apparently, some of us need to re-read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because, we’re confused as to why the Horcrux in Harry wasn’t destroyed when he was bitten by the Basilisk. If you recall, Basilisk venom is one of the only magical substances that can destroy a Horcrux.

Well, the basic answer to that question is that the Horcrux in Harry wasn’t destroyed because HP didn’t actually die. Our beloved Fawkes saved the day with his magical healing Phoenix tears.  According to J.K. Rowling, Harry would have actually had to meet his end for the Horcrux in his head to be destroyed. And where would we be if that had occurred?! Still in that danky chamber, that’s where!

Please for the sake of us all, never ask Ms. Rowling that question again. If you’re still confused, we’re sure that your friend or neighbor will be happy to clarify for you. Meanwhile, the rest of us will be rereading the entire saga as we patiently await the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Don’t ruin this for us guys!!
