Despite the fact that comedies wherein Adam Sandler plays a destructive father who wreaks havoc on Andy Samberg‘s life don’t quite play that well with audiences, there’s a new one on the horizon: Hotel Transylvania. Below is the first full trailer for the animated flick, which stars Sandler as a single dad Count Dracula, who creates a secluded “no humans allowed” resort called Hotel Transylvania: a safe haven to protect his beloved daughter (Selena Gomez) from the dastardly mortal population. Lo and behold, a human finds his way in: the good-natured thrill-seeker Jonathan (Samberg), who falls in love with Drac’s daughter Mavis… and vice-versa.
Check out the trailer below for a whole lot of fun visuals — the various monsters (Steve Buscemi, Cee Lo Green, Fran Drescher) are all pleasing to the eye — and the kind of gags you’d expect from a Sandler comedy, like a suit of armor getting hit in the groin. Hotel Transylvania comes out Sept. 21.
