Part of knowing what something is, is also knowing what is not. Thus concludes our weekly Philosophy lesson – on to the Iron Man 3 news where we don’t really find out anything about the film other than what it won’t be! The really good news is that it won’t be like Iron Man 2 in that its not going to be “two men in iron suits fighting each other” and will instead go the international thriller route. Also there won’t be any other Marvel cameos in Iron Man 3 and in fact, there might not be any cross overs post-The Avengers! It seems Marvel wants all the buddy buddy super hero-ing to lead up to The Avengers and then revert back to contained stories.
All in all this seems to be the right direction for Iron Man 3. Shane Black, the new director, is writing the film as well. This should help create a more unified vision for the story and not having to shoehorn in every other superhero from the Marvel universe will give it a stronger story anyway. And really, there isn’t much you need from an Iron Man movie than RDJ flying around for a bit then saying something smartassy but seriously cool. It’s not that hard to mess up.
