Jake Gyllenhaal is reuniting with his Southpaw director Antoine Fuqua for a new thriller.
They will team for an adaptation of The Guilty, based on Gustav Moller‘s 2018 Danish drama Den Skyldige.
The film takes place at a 911 dispatch center and features the actor as an operator, who must work to save an endangered caller.
Gyllenhaal and Fuqua will also serve as producers on the film, based on a script from True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto.

“I couldn’t be more excited to work with Antoine again,” Gyllenhaal said in a statement. “Our time together on Southpaw was one of the great artistic experiences of my career, and I cannot wait to be back on set with him again. The Guilty is a special story, and one that we all feel very close to.”
The film will begin shooting in Los Angeles in November (2020).
