Actress Jenny Slate has been working on a “big” new movie idea during the Covid-19 crisis.
The star, who recently appeared in The Sunlit Night with Zach Galifianakis, has been busy penning a “90s-style” comedy movie – in which she’ll star as twins.
“I have found myself really wanting to see a ’90s-style comedy — a full-fledged character comedy — that is nice,” she tells Kristen Stewart during a virtual chat as part of Tribeca Enterprises’ Women’s Filmmaker Program
“Usually at the head of these movies are always men, so I have just completed a draft, with my friend, of a mainstream, big, big movie comedy… where I play twins,” adds the Obvious Child star.
Meanwhile, Slate has also been tapped to front and executive produce the upcoming Quibi docuseries Sex Plants, which aims to open up the conversation about sex-positivity. A release date has yet to be confirmed.
