In 1970 the Miss World pageant was full of controversy, so of course, eventually, there would be a film about it, and here we are talking about ‘Misbehaviour’.
On one side, the Women’s Liberation activists were protesting not only the competition but the famed host Bob Hope (Greg Kinnear). Bob was known for being brash and awful towards the contestants, and it was time for that to change. Joining them in protest is Sally Alexander (Keira Knightley). Fighting another battle was Jennifer Hosten (Gugu Mbatha-Raw)the first Black South African and first Miss Grenada.
Sometimes it’s better to compete with and takeover rather then against.
‘Misbehaviour’ releases in select theaters and VOD on September 25, 2020.
