The trailer for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom makes the former president of South Africa look like a badass. And let’s be real, he totally is. The upcoming biopic, based off Mandela’s 1994 autobiography, stars Idris Elba as the revolutionary who helped to end apartheid.
The movie depicts Mandela’s fight against the government and his resulting prison sentence, which separated him from his wife and children. Of course, after being released from prison, he went on to be elected president in South Africa’s first democratic election.
The film looks to be an inspiring tale of a real-life hero, who just celebrated his 95th birthday. Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is in theaters on Nov. 29.
