UPDATE: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Casey Nicholaw, co-director of the Tony-winning Book of Mormon — from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone — is in talks to direct the Austin Powers musical.
EARLIER: Mike Myers is reportedly considering turning his Austin Powers franchise into a Broadway musical.
Myers, who wrote, produced and starred as the title goofy spy in all three Powers movies, “would be heavily involved in writing the show, but he will not star in it, even though he has quite a good singing voice” — according to a Page Six source.
The former Saturday Night Live star agreed in August to return for a fourth entry in the series, due for release in late 2013 or early 2014.
