5 Reasons Why We’re #TeamCap in This ‘Civil War’ Battle

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last several months, you know that Captain America: Civil War hit theaters in 2016. After months of waiting, Marvel has finally released the trailer. And it looks more epic than we could have possibly imagined.

Iron Man vs. Captain America, the battle we’ve felt brewing basically since the first Avengers film. Marvel fans around the world feel the divide – who should we root for? Our beloved, sarcastic Iron Man or America’s sweetheart, Captain America? Obviously we’re #TeamCap and you should be too.

1. Cap is the one who isn’t siding with the government.

In most of these films, has the government ever be in the right? No.

2. Cap has always been pure of heart.

His intentions have always been clear; he fights for justice and he does it with the lives of millions in mind. Can the same be said for Iron Man, who made his coin off of creating weapons?

3. Cap didn’t just create Ultron and get all of them into this mess.

We can understand why Iron Man/Tony Stark might be feeling the pressure after that whole Ultron meltdown, but that wasn’t Cap’s fault and he shouldn’t have to carry that burden.

4. Cap just wants his best friend back.

Is that so hard to understand? Yes, Tony, you were Cap’s friend too. But not since childhood. You’re not the only remaining link to a life before Captain America existed. We’d do anything to get that back too if we were Cap.

5. Cap clearly has the better team.

Scarlet Witch, Falcon, The Winter Solider, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, even Black Widow seems to drop her alliances with Iron Man and switches to #TeamCap halfway through this battle. The only standouts Iron Man has on his team are Vision (who we doubt we do any real harm to Cap, because if anyone has a purer heart than Cap, it’s Vision) and Black Panther. Once Spider-Man gets involved, we’re sure he’ll find a voice of reason in Cap over Iron Man as well.
