Reese Witherspoon is to star in two new romcoms for Netflix, which she will also produce.
The 44-year-old actress will showcase her much-loved acting talent in Your Place Or Mine, about two best friends who change each other’s lives, and The Cactus, based on Sarah Haywood’s novel about a woman who goes on an unexpected journey after falling pregnant aged 45, for the streaming service.
According to Deadline, Reese will also produce both projects with her Hello Sunshine company.
“We have been looking for the right feature opportunities to collaborate with Ted Sarandos, Scott Stuber and the entire team at Netflix for a while and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them on these two romantic comedies,” Reese said in a statement. “Both Sarah Haywood’s and Aline Brosh McKenna’s stories blend everything we love about traditional RomComs with strong, smart and determined female leads.”
Reese hasn’t starred in a romantic comedy movie since Home Again in 2017, but earned herself millions of fans around the world with her roles in films such as Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama, and This Means War.
