Sacha Baron Cohen Strikes Again!

Sacha Baron Cohen has struck again!

The king prankster, disguised as his alter ego Bruno for an upcoming mockumentary of the same name, crashed the set of NBC show Medium on Nov. 7 and actually caused production to be shut down.

Entertainment Weekly’s Web site, which first reported the incident, says that Cohen/Bruno was on set as an extra but had to be forcibly removed after repeatedly interrupting a tense courtroom scene involving Medium star Patricia Arquette.

Cohen’s incognito filming of Bruno (which also goes by the informal, plot-explaining title Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt) is funnily reminiscent of his Borat journey a few years back, when his globe-spanning disruptions occasionally made headlines.

In recent months, Cohen/Bruno has been spotted sabotaging fashion shows in Milan and Paris and a rally supporting California’s Proposition 8.

Bruno, a flamboyantly gay Austrian TV reporter, is one of three fictional characters Cohen played on his short-lived but wildly popular Da Ali G Show — and the only such character without an eponymous movie.

But that will change in May 2009, when Bruno hits theaters.
