See Clips From The Film That Scared Stephen King ‘The Witch’

‘The Witch’ is a different kind of horror film than most films being released today. The film is scary enough to scare the king of horror Stephen King, and has an official endorsement from the Satanic Temple. You won’t find any jump scares, no cheap tricks. Instead, Director Robert Eggers (winner of best director in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival) uses folklore and horrific imagery to scare everyone who sees it. If you don’t believe us, check out these terrifying clips. 

The first clip is pretty tame, kids are taunting a goat named Black Philip, which according to folklore you shouldn’t ever do:


In the second clip, film protagonist Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy) comes across Caleb (Harvey Scrimshaw) who is stuck on a fence and convulsing:


Caleb is brought to their father William (Ralph Ineson) who has to resort to medieval tactics to rid the demon:
