To say I’m excited about this movie might be an understatement.
Stanley Kubrick’s version of ‘The Shining’ is an absolute classic, despite the author Stephen King’s disproval of it. It is now the gold standard of that story and in 2013 King penned the sequel to the story. Now Warner has turned that into a film and man the teaser looks great.
The story follows a now older Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor) who still deals with the shinning powers that he had in the previous story/film. A young girl named Abra (Kyliegh Curran) goes to him with very similar powers and a huge problem. A Cult is after her, and it’s up to him to help her try to understand the powers I don’t think he’s figured out yet and to survive against the cult.
The teaser has plenty of flashbacks to Kubrick’s masterpiece, which feels almost refreshing, and if that theme at the end doesn’t put chills down your spine with a bit of a smile you might be messing up.
‘Doctor Sleep’ releases on November 8, 2019.
