Forget Comic-Con. If you’re a Star Wars fan, you might as well cancel your flight to San Diego and book a new one to Anaheim, where Disney will be presenting the franchise at its own biannual D23 Expo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the convention will feature a slew of Star Wars events like the exhibit Darth Vader: The Evolution of a Villain and a history panel entitled Crash Course in the Fourse: Star Wars Saga 101. What’s more, there are rumors that a few Star Wars actors may make an appearance at the expo — perhaps they can confirm whether or not they will be part of the new sequel trilogy, the first chapter of which to be directed by J.J. Abrams.
The D23 Expo will take place August 9 – 11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The Star Wars lineup will mark the franchise’s first official appearance at a Disney event since the studio acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. And hopefully, the debut will mark the beginning of a beautiful partnership.
