‘The Campaign’: Will Ferrell’s Eagles Vs. Zach Galifianakis’ Pugs — POSTERS

The most interesting thing about the upcoming comedy The Campaign is its equal opportunity approach to satirizing the political world. On the one hand, you have Will Ferrell as Cam Brady, who looks to be a polished, camera-friendly sleaze ball . On the other hand, there’s Zach Galifianakis as Marty Huggins, whose deficit of competence should be apparent from the below campaign poster wherein he drapes his entire family in t-shirts adorned with pugs wearing sombreros.

Both posters, courtesy of Comingsoon, are a lot of fun. But if you look closely at Brady’s picture-perfect ad, you can spot a “Dictionary of Words” and four different eagles. There is no subtlety in the humor of Huggins’ poster — it’s all right there, front and center. The smiles, the pugs, the sombreros. The question is: which man would you vote for? The underhanded, eagle-toting wordsmith? Or the wide-grinning pugophile without a hint of tact? If only these questions were limited to the reality of movies…

Catch The Campaign in theaters August 10.
