‘The Expendables’ and ‘Eat Pray Love’ Top the Box Office

First Place – Director Sylvester Stallone‘s The Expendables held on to the top spot at the box office Tuesday, grossing another $3.87 million for a cumulative $42.63 million since its Friday opening.  The old school actioner has proved popular with audiences drawn by its ensemble cast of classic action heroes like Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Second PlaceJulia Roberts‘ romance-drama Eat Pray Love remained in second place yesterday with $3.34 million at the box office.  Based on the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat Pray Love has grossed almost $30 million total since it debuted in theaters last week.

Third PlaceThe Other Guys stayed in the number three spot once again with a $2.24 million take.  Stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg have propelled the Adam McKay comedy to a solid $74.45 million gross since the feature opened August 6th.
