2016 was a fantastic year for films, and 2017 is shaping up to be even better. With several movies from both Marvel and DC Comics, a sultry sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey and an eight Star Wars episode, here are the most highly anticipated films of 2017.

Fifty Shades Darker
Release Date: February 10, 2017
Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey are back to rekindle their romance in the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey. With a new director, James Foley the duo are trying to navigate their relationship DESPITE some other unforeseen forces. Check out the deliciously sultry trailer here.
The Lego Batman Movie

DC Comics
In The Lego Movie, Will Arnett's Batman stole the show, so naturally, he's getting his own spin-off. Though we know very little about the storyline for the film, we do know that it will be full of hilarity. Watch the trailer here.

In Hugh Jackman's final film as The Wolverine, we will meet a weary and exhausted Logan of the future; in a world where mutants are going extinct. Kong: Skull Island

It looks like the outdated often mocked legend of King Kong is finally getting the reboot the everyone always wanted. Brie Larson, John C Reilly, John Goodman and Tom Hiddleston have all signed on for the latest adventure of Kong as adventurers who encounter the gigantic ape as well as other monstrous creatures. Beauty and The Beast

Disney's live action films have become all the rage, but the tale as old as time is perhaps the most highly anticipated thus far. Emma Watson and Dan Stevens will be starring in the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast and according to the stunning trailer and everything we know about the film, it's gong to be a magical delight.
The Fate Of The Furious
Release Date: April 14, 2017
Fast 8 is actually happening and it looks like Dom and the rest of the crew are back in action. This time, Vin Diesel's Dom is turning to the dark side with Charlize Theron coming on as a villian. Watch the trailer here.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Release Date: May 5, 2017
Star Lord and Rocket Raccoon are back in action and director James Gunn has promised us that Star Lord's father will be revealed. The entire crew is back and though we don't know much about the storyline, we know already that the soundtrack is going to be legendary. Watch the trailer here.
Wonder Woman
Release Date: June 2, 2017

DC Comics is trying to gain back some momentum that they lost with Suicide SquadGal Gadot slays as the Amazonian who is finally getting her origin story Chris Pine co-stars as Steve Trevor we already know this film will be something to look at. Watch the trailer here.
Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man is finally heading home to Marvel where he belongs. British actor Tom Holland has taken on the role as teenage Peter Parker who is desperate to win the approval of Tony Stark and the rest of the Avengers. Let's see what this spidey has in store. War for the Planet of the Apes

Thor: Ragnarok
Release Date: November 3, 2017
Thor is back and he's returned to Asgard to find out that Loki has taken over his homeland. Marvel's Thor films have been notoriously mediocre so hopefully the third time is the charm for Chris Hemsworth and company. Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will also be starring in this film. There is no trailer yet, but we'll let you know when there is.
Justice League Part 1
Release Date: November 17, 2017
DC Comics
Everything DC Comics has done thus far has been leading up to Justice League. Batman, Aquaman, Wonderwoman, Flash and Cyborg and crew teaming up to battle against the evil Steppenwolf. There is no trailer yet, but we will be sure to notify you when there is.

Star Wars: Episode VIII
