
Thursday Daily Box Office Rally
First Place – Director Christopher Nolan’s ‘Inception‘ took down $3.6 million on Thursday, giving the brainy thriller a cumulative gross of just over $209 million since its debut some 3 weeks ago. ‘Inception’ has beat all estimates to stay at number one for 20 of the 21 days since its release.
Second Place – The Jay Roach comedy ‘Dinner For Schmucks‘ held strong in second place yesterday with $2.7 million, nearing its first full week in theaters with over $36 million at the box office. The American remake of French film ‘Le Diner de Cons‘ stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, along with Zach Galifianakis and Jemaine Clement.
Third Place – ‘Despicable Me‘ made waves yesterday, nabbing another $2.3 million at the box office to cross the vaunted $200 million mark for its cumulative gross. The computer-animated children’s film once again edged out ‘Salt’ for third place, with the Angelina Jolie spy thriller earning a close $2.2 million.
