Tom Holland and Chris Pratt are elf bros in Pixar’s ‘Onward’

Pixar announced after a multitude of sequels that their next few films would be originals, and to start it off we have ‘Onward’.

‘Onward’ is set in a world of fantasy after the fantasy is over. Sure Gnomes, Dragons, and Unicorns are a thing, just Gnomes are yard workers, Dragons are pets that are scared of spray bottles, and Unicorns are no longer the majestic beasts that we paint them out to be, they are scavengers.

The film follows two teenage elf brothers, Barley (Tom Holland) the hipster-esque kid whose fine with their surroundings, and Ian (Chris Pratt) the older mural painted van driving brother who likes the old days. The two have a task, or as Ian would put it a quest. Slight spoiler, but the official synopses says the quest is to discover if there is still magic in the world in order to spend one day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him.

Why can’t Pixar be nice and NOT involve a parent dying?

‘Onward’ releases on March 6, 2020.
