Pixar films are known for being charming and funny yet heartfelt at the same time.
I know many grown men who have cried in the first ten minutes of Up. Their newest film is ‘Onward’ and it tells the story of two brothers (Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) in a post fantasy land who are given a chance at rising to greatness and seeing their father one more time. The two go on a quest to find must find the magic to bring their father back.
So you have this story of a lost father which people can get behind, but the brothers feuding and working together is a story that needs to be developed correctly or else the entire movie falls flat. Brothers need to actually feel like brothers. Director Dan Scanlon and Producer Kori Rae knew that so they not only brought in two voices that you probably know in Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, but he also put them in the recording booth together. Most of the times voice actors are in a little booth with only the director feeding them lines and they don’t get to really act off of someone else. In the above video, you can see the two work together while the people involved tell us why.
‘Onward’ is in theaters on March 6, 2020.
