Weinstein Co. Picks Up Sean Penn’s ‘This Must Be the Place’

7752387.jpgThe Weinstein Company announced today that it has acquired the North American distribution rights to Paolo Sorrentino’s indie dramedy This Must Be the Place. The film stars Sean Penn as an aging rock star who embarks on a cross-country trip to track down the ex-Nazi war criminal who once humiliated his father. It debuted at this year’s Cannes Film Festival to mostly positive reviews, and is generally regarded as one of the better aging-rock-star-hunting-a-war-criminal films to come along in recent memory. The supporting cast includes Frances McDormand, Judd Hirsch, and David Byrne.
