What to Expect on Disney+ Day

What is Disney+ Day?

Disney+ Day marks the 2-year anniversary of the launch of the streaming service! To celebrate this milestone, Disney+ will be releasing a plethora of new content for its subscribers to enjoy.

“This day of appreciation brings to life our mission to entertain, inform, and inspire fans and families around the globe through the power of unparalleled storytelling,” said Disney CEO Bob Chapek. He also revealed that Disney+ Day will be an annual event where worldwide subscribers will be able to watch new content every year!

According to Variety, fans can expect to see first looks at trailers, exclusive clips, and appearances from Disney+ creators and stars on the streaming service’s social media accounts. You’ll also be able to view videos featuring Disney+ stories, brands, and characters on its new TikTok page.

New subscribers can access a limited-time offer where they pay just $1.99 for their first month of Disney+!

What’s coming to Disney+ on November 12 

Disney+ is releasing a variety of new episodes, shorts, movies, and specials on Friday, November 12. The sixth movie in the Home Alone franchise, Home Sweet Home Alone, will premiere on Disney+ Day.

Home Sweet Home Alone follows 10-year-old Max who is left behind from his family vacation after a complication with flight bookings. Home alone for the holidays, he must protect his house from burglars who are trying to steal his family’s priceless heirloom. The film stars Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, and Kenan Thompson.

Previously released films that will now be streaming on Disney+ include Spin, Jungle Cruise, and Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings (this film, along with other select Marvel movies, will be available to stream in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio).

New episodes of Disney+ TV shows that will be streaming on Friday, November 12 include The World According to Jeff Goldblum season 2 episodes 1-5, Fancy Nancy season 3, Marvel Assembled: The Making of Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, and Marvel Studios Legends: Hawkeye.

A number of specials will be available to stream on Disney+ Day, as well. The Making of Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles shows a behind-the-scenes look at Billie Eilish’s performance of her latest album that was released on Disney+ on September 3.

Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special dives into the past, present, and future Marvel Cinematic Universe series that’ll eventually premiere on Disney+.

For Star Wars fans, Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett is a documentary special that explores the legendary character.

Disney+ subscribers can also enjoy brand new shorts coming to the streaming service. Ciao Alberto is based on the latest Disney/Pixar film, Luca. Olaf Presents features everyone’s favorite snowman retelling the stories of past Disney movies, similar to how he retells the events of Frozen in Frozen 2.

According to Deadline, The Simpsons in Plusaversary will feature the Simpson family hosting a Disney+ Day party that everybody except for Homer is invited to (d’oh!). The short will include appearances from Disney+ characters as well as classic Disney music.

The 2007 live-action film Enchanted starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey will be available to stream on Disney+ starting November 12. This is in anticipation of the sequel Disenchanted that’ll premiere on the streamer sometime in 2022.

Watch your favorite Disney movies at AMC Theatres! 

From November 12-14, select AMC Theatres across the country will be showing 4 surprise screenings of Disney movies each day, previewed by a surprise short. Tickets for these movies are $5 and guests won’t know what movie is playing until it begins.
