Zach Braff has joined Gabrielle Union for Kenya Barris’ upcoming Cheaper By The Dozen revamp.

He’ll play the father of a blended family of 12 – a role that has previously been played onscreen by Steve Martin and Clifton Webb.

Union will take on the matriarch role previously portrayed on the big screen by Myrna Loy and Bonnie Hunt.

The first film, in 1950, was based on the real lives of Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and his sister Ernestine.

Martin and Hunt starred in the 2003 remake, which spawned a 2005 sequel, directed by Adam Shankman.

Gail Lerner will direct the new film.
