BTS Collab Launches at McDonald’s

McDonald’s launched their most recent celebrity collaboration Wednesday with the K-pop group and worldwide phenomenon BTS

According to the fast-food chain, the BTS Meal will launch on menus in almost 50 countries, making this collaboration the first celebrity signature order to be available to customers worldwide.

The collaboration also includes merchandise that will be available for purchase starting Wednesday at 7 p.m. EDT. McDonald’s tweeted that fans will receive a free photocard with each merch order.

The BTS meal

The BTS Meal includes a 9 or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets and, depending on location, a medium order of fries, and a medium drink. The meal also includes two limited edition sauces — sweet chili and cajun — that are inspired by menu items at McDonald’s in South Korea, which is where BTS is from.

According to USA Today, the collaboration will be on the menu until June 20. Fans can also go backstage on the McDonald’s app to check out behind-the-scenes content of BTS from the collaboration. New types of content will launch on the app on different dates through the end of the partnership.

BTS’s collaboration with McDonald’s is part of the company’s Famous Orders Program, which highlights that regardless of one’s background, everyone has a go-to McDonalds order.

In September 2020, McDonald’s launched a partnership with Travis Scott, which included a menu item inspired by the rapper’s favorite meal and exclusive Cactus Jack x McDonald’s merchandise.

Following the success of the Travis Scott meal, the J Balvin meal was added to the menu in October, which included a McDonald’s signature Big Mac, fries with ketchup, and an Oreo McFlurry, according to the Associated Press

The Travis Scott meal marked the first time a celebrity had been featured on the McDonald’s menu since the 1992 Michael Jordan collaboration titled the “McJordan Special,” as reported by Newsweek.

BTS Army reacts to McDonald’s x BTS collab on Twitter

Mary loved the limited-edition sauces. Also, how cool is this packaging??

One Twitter user joked that trying to get the BTS meal is as bad as trying to buy concert tickets.

This fan said you can find them eating the BTS meal morning, noon, and night.

Just like BTS’s singles “Dynamite” and “Butter,” their collaboration with McDonald’s is sure to be a hit.
