Nicki Minaj Excites Fans by Re-releasing ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’

Happy Friday, Hollywooders! The Queen of rap herself, Nicki Minaj, has returned.

After blowing up the internet and crashing the Crocs website earlier this week, Nicki Minaj is back this Friday with new music.

The legendary rapper has finally put her breakout 2009 mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, on streaming platforms. The 2021 re-release of Beam Me Up Scotty features five new songs as well as a reworked tracklist.

And let me just say, it was well worth the wait. Beam Me Up Scotty kicks off with an absolute banger that features fellow YMCMB alumni Lil Wayne and Drake. “Seeing Green” is one of the five new tracks that appear on the streaming version of the mixtape and is by far a standout track. The song is filled with nostalgia for YMCMB’s heyday while also featuring lyrics about the pandemic.

With no chorus, the track opens the album up with an incredible cypher between three of YMCMB’s best. Produced by GOVI and Kid Masterpiece, “Seeing Green” takes us all on a trip down memory lane despite the contemporary lyrics.

Beam Me Up Scotty also introduced fans to some classic Nicki Minaj songs. “Best I Ever Had (Remix)” and “I Get Crazy” are two of the rapper’s most famous hits from her mixtape era and they’ve now reached a new audience with the streaming re-release.

The Queen of rap is still working to release an album in 2021 so adding Beam Me Up Scotty to streaming platforms is really just an appetizer.

It began with an IG Live between Nicki Minaj and Drake

To kick off the re-release of the iconic mixtape, Nicki Minaj was joined by Drake on Instagram Live.

The two talk about their love for one another and how they have inspired each other during the course of their careers. Additionally, before logging off, Drake hints that Nicki Minaj has more music to come. Let’s hope he’s right.
