Julian Fellowes’ soccer story picked up by Netflix

Busy Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes’ new TV drama about the birth of soccer has been snapped up by bosses at Netflix.
The news was announced at Netflix’s See What’s Next event in Rome, Italy on Wednesday (18Apr18).
The English Game, written by Fellowes, will examine how the game became the world’s number one sport.
Fellowes is also working on a TV series about the Rothschild banking dynasty and U.S. period drama The Gilded Age, which will debut next year (19), while reports suggest a film version of Downton Abbey will begin shooting later this year.
