Kobe Bryant: Remembering The NBA Star On His Birthday

Family, friends, and fans are celebrating the legacy of Kobe Bryant on what would have been his 44th birthday. The NBA star died in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna on January 26, 2020. As we remember Kobe Bryant, we take a look at his legacy in the basketball world.

Kobe Bryant was a champion on and off the court

Kobe spent his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, helping them win 5 NBA championships. He also received the All-Star Award 18 times, and won the 2008 Most Valuable Player award. In 2020, Kobe Bryant was posthumously voted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Along with his basketball success, Kobe took on the role as official ambassador for the After School All Stars. This non-profit organization provides after-school programs for children in 13 U.S. cities.

With his wife Vanessa Bryant, the two founded the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation which is focused on helping young people in need.
