As if you needed another reason to love UK beauty (they do have Hydraluron and Bioderma, after all) world-renowned makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury (and Fashion Week backstage fixture) has (finally!) launched her own eponymous line of makeup products.
The line consists of over 100 rose-gold-covered products that span over both cosmetics and skincare, and is divided into five categories: prep, prime, perfect & conceal, facial framework and colour. The eponymous line also focuses on ten different looks, ranging from “The Golden” (Elle Macpherson comes to mind), and “The Sophisticate” (think Keira Knightley) to “The Bombshell” (à la Rosie Huntington-Whitely).
The line blends the functional with the humorous, and uses names like “Rock’n’Kohl”, “K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick” and “Full Fat Mascara” to showcase Tilbury’s own necessities as well as client faves (her long list includes Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, and BFF Cara Delevingne—as well as runway looks for Stella McCartney and pal Tom Ford).
Personally, we consider the change refreshing: Tilbury’s products don’t claim to be “long-lasting,” “lengthening,” or “flawless” — they just promise to work.
