We’re all used to designer bags, designer wallets — heck, even designer keychains — but with the recent stream of labels adding their own luxe twist to everyday items, one person’s frivolity is about to become another’s necessity.
Case in point: Hermès just debuted a basketball made of hand-stitched bull calfskin (just like a Birkin, naturally) and the color blue to “represent the sky, the ocean, an all the beautiful pools that are a way of life in L.A. and Southern California.” There were only two produced, and the price tag? A mere $12,900.
Louis Vuitton is no stranger to everyday items being stamped with its logo (fake or not) — everything from luxe garbage bags to skateboards.

And who could forget Alexander Wang’s “Objects Collection,” an eponymous line of household items. Most infamous are his pool toys — inflatable balls and rings ranging from $40 to $50, in his signature A. Wang all-black. But the one we wrote down on our holiday to-buy list for the boss or Aunt May (sshhhh): the snakeskin-embossed domino set for a very cool $95.
