Rad or Bad: White Jumpsuits

Whoever came up with the idea that white after Labor Day is a no-go hasn’t been a fashionista. Hel-lo, winter whites? Pearlescent Chelsea Boots? Hell, what about ultra-bleached denim?! While we love the idea of white year-round, this trend does come with a caveat (and it’s a pretty big one — so get ready): White jumpsuits.

Don’t get us wrong: we love jumpsuits as much as the next fashion lover. They’re effortless, breezy, and ooze casual cool. Plus, they are (generally) flattering- gliding over any unsightly lumps and bumps as opposed to accentuating them. But WHITE jumpsuits are a game changer. All the things we take for granted with black jumpsuits – what underwear we have on, the thickness of the fabric, how soon we need to get a spray tan – doesn’t hold true for the white alternative.

Our rules to rocking a white jumpsuit? You’ve got to be tall. You’ve got to have a tan. And you must have an ah-mazing tailor.

If you do opt for the controversial trend, be sure to rock contrasting accessories (we love how Darby paired hers with electric blue heels, clutch, and ring). Don’t go too tight or too baggy, and be sure to choose undergarments that match your skin tone.

Our verdict? While we aren’t running off to buy a white jumpsuit ASAP, we have endless respect for women that can pull it off and look fantastic. Don’t white out this trend from your arsenal just yet – but exercise caution.
