The Scrunchie Controversy

Earlier this week Selena Gomez made an appearance on David Letterman rocking a trend we never thought we’d see (in public) again: the scrunchie! Knowing that people have bad hair days (and lapses in judgment), we held our tongue. But designer Michael Kors did not. Taking to Twitter, he shared one of his discerning fashion tips: “Scrunchies should never leave the house. – xxMK.”

Selena isn’t the only one braving the public – and the paparazzi – with one of these fluffy fabric elastics tied around their hair. Cressida Bonas, the future Mrs. Prince Harry, has virtually made them her best friend – rocking them to high profile events like Glastonbury. And songbird Pixie Lott has gone one step further topping off her half-pony (!) with a statement polka dot design. While we admire the bravery of those digging this early 90s revival, we’d rather save scrunchies for a self-deprecating day in bed.

So the question of the hour is – are you Team Scrunchie or Team Michael Kors?
