Throwback Thursday: Prada

There’s a reason the devil wears Prada.

Prada is one of the most influential fashion houses in the world today, but when “Fratelli Prada” first opened in Milan in 1913; it was just a simple leather goods store run by two Italian brothers. Back then, it was known for its leather bags and imported English steamer trunks — even sought after by Italian Royal Family. When Miuccia Prada inherited the company in 1978, she used her bold aesthetic to transform the family’s classic, if a bit old fashion, collections. Her nylon backpacks, platform heels and wild prints brought the brand back to life with the elite fashion crowds. It has never been the same since.

While there is no question that we love Prada, we are just as enthralled by their stunning ads. In honor of this historic anniversary, we’ve taking a look back at the brand’s iconic campaigns. Happy Birthday Prada!
