American Idol producers were left scrambling to stage the singing contest on Tuesday after one contestant was hospitalized.
Crystal Bowersox, who is reportedly a diabetic, checked into a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday — just hours before she was due to perform as one of 10 female semifinalists in the hit TV show.
The remaining male contestants were subsequently forced to sing for judges a day earlier than scheduled as Fox network bosses made last-minute changes to accommodate Bowersox.

The 24-year-old mom-of-one is expected to return to the female lineup when American Idol next airs on Wednesday.
