It was only a matter of time before this happy news whispered sexily in our ears (at least, that’s how everyone on the CW talks): The CW’s biggest bread winners, The Vampire Diaries, 90210, and Supernatural, have all been renewed for next season.
This marks a fourth season for the blood-thirsty drama, a fifth for the teen reboot, and a seventh for the Supernatural-catch-all series. Both TVD and Supernatural have hovered around three million viewers an episode, while 90210 has attracted around two million, respectable numbers for a series on the teentastic network.
CW bubble series like The Secret Circle, Gossip Girl, Nikita, and Hart of Dixie are still hanging in the balance, with the strong possibility of Gossip Girl returning on account of its brand power. (See: Blair Waldorf’s closet and Serena’s assets.) For now, we can take solace in the fact that the sure-fire cliffhangers on 90210, TVD, and Supernatural will only leave us writhing in the pain of an unsolved mystery for the summer months, because those sagas will continue in September.
Are you doing a happy dance right about now? Are you worried about any of the CW bubble shows?
