What Was With That Crappy Green Screen on the ‘Dexter’ Finale?

DexterShowtime

There was so much to hate about the series finale of Dexter. So many major characters given short shrift. So many rage-inducing codas. So little of the bad-ass serial killer we were promised way back in season one. But perhaps the low point of the whole thing was that shoddy green screen hurricane that provided the setting for Deb’s burial at sea. The promos talked up the big storm — nothing like an angry sea to add a little drama.

But the result was pure amateur hour. Whether budget or technique is to blame, the embarrassing effect was the visual representation of the decline of a once-promising series. Goodbyes are usually hard, but not if leaving looks like this. So long, Dex.
